Thanks for this – I have CKD (stage 3) and am also overweight. I need to get rid of pounds while ‘cuddling’ my kidneys. While waiting for consult with the nutritionist, this list gives me a good guide to start with.

I had renal stents (2) approximately 12 years ago. I will be 84 in December 2020 and having problems. Drs. say one of the stents is closing. I have been told this can be reversed without surgery and at my age, with an aortic disease, I should try diet and home remedies to keep active. I have always been very active, however, the past 6 months I have gained 9 pounds around the middle. (from 135 to 144) according to Dr. scales. Also feeling more tired than usual. I have been told to drink 1/2 teaspoon baking soda with water once a week and fruits and vegetables will certainly clean the kidneys. What say you? Thank you.
